(October 15, 2010 New York, NY)- 238Beats Entertainment Group & Tashera Simmons in association with Carnegie PR are pleased to announce the official red carpet launch of the Women of Strength Foundation; a non-profit organization for women in need. The invite only fundraiser event will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Taj Lounge.
The Women Of Strength Foundation dedicates its time and resources to women and children whose lives have been directly affected by drug abuse, sexual abuse, domestic violence, abandonment, and other social conflicts. Founder Tashera Simmons, who is the wife of multi-platinum recording artist DMX states “pregnant teens, runaways, drug and domestic abuse victims, and women in crisis can find open arms and a place of hope at the Women Of Strength Foundation.”
Tashera Simmons who is currently working on her book and reality show, both titled Strength Of A Woman is no stranger to some of the extreme circumstances that the these women face. Tashera became the guardian of her 6 siblings at a very young age, being abandoned by her mom, and having a father who turned to a life of drugs. Her dedication is unparalleled as her mission for her Women Of Strength Foundation is one she personally holds dear to her.
238Beats Entertainment and Tashera Simmons are calling on celebrities, industry executives, radio personalities, and all those who can use their voice as an instrument to help support such a valiant cause. The goal of the Women Of Strength Foundation fundraiser event is to help raise funds to create workshops that will educate women on the many resources available to them, to support and build upon existing financial and health programs available to women and children in crisis, and to ensure that these women have long term plans that will offer healing and the self confidence needed to for them to care for their families, and rejoin society leading productive lives.
We are asking that everyone make a donation of $20.00. Proceeds for the evening will be benefit Safe Horizons (www.safehorizons.org) on behalf of the Women Of Strength Foundation. Larger donations may be tax deductible. Please contact 238beats@gmail.com for further information.
