Today in Hip Hop History:

March 18th - The 1st Hip Hop film “Wild Style” opened in U.S. theaters on this day in 1983.

The First Run Features film, written and directed by Charlie Ahearn, starred graffiti artist Lee Quinones as the fictional graffiti artist Zoro and co-starred some the earliest pioneers of hip-hop including Grandmaster Flash, Fab 5 Freddy, Grandmixer D.ST., Lady Pink, Patti Astor, Chief Rocker Busy Bee, The Cold Crush Brothers, Fantastic Romantic Five, featuring DJ Grand Wizard Theodore, The Rock Steady Crew, Double Trouble and many more.
