Classic tape from ZULU NATION. Jazzy Jay, Grand Master Caz, Cassanova Fly, Lisa Lee, Donald D etc... Recorded live at Bronx River. Shouts to SOUL and Jay for this one.
The boogie down Bronx used to be known as the "burnt down" Bronx in the 70's. Sanitation strikes , arson , 77 blackout etc... were all contributing to the Bronx being in really bad shape. Today the Bronx looks nothing like this. Hard to believe that anything good could of come out of this...but it did. God Bless the Bronx! Shout outs to Mr. Wiggles from Rock Steady Crew.
As part of our launch on the new site PMP WORLD WIDE, I am looking for tracks from up and coming producers worldwide. If you or anyone you know have tracks and would like the opportunity to get them placed on various major label and independent projects, email me at 238beats@gmail.com.
Here is the next part in the 14 Deadly Secrets collection. Erick Sermon put in some work over the years. He give background on 14 of his hits. Check it out.
Man, shout out to TAPEMASTA. I had to post this. In 97 we did a party at this club in Harlem with Starski amd Stik-E- and the Hoods. They had the song "Shake What Ya Mamma Gave Ya" Stik E is actually my man Rocklogic from MOP. We spent a month planning that party and even painted the place! lol. Anyway, Starski is probably one of the best party DJ's and this tape is extremely rare. Check this one out.
This is a must listen. Probably one of the best documentary type mixes that chronicle the history of hip hop/.Take the time to listen to this. It's worth it.

Shout outs to Hec for sending this. Also shout out to DJ SOULBUCK for requesting more Chill Will joints. I am going to try and get my hands on more of these real soon. Another case of me lending out tapes back in the days and not getting them back! lol Chill Will put out a lot of heat back in the days and he continues to do his thing till this day on the production side as well as on the DJ tip. Check out the documentary on him below and then cop #6.
If you are into beats, then you need this. Nice collection of originals mixed cleverly by DJ UNEXPECTED. Shout outs to the Diggers Union for this gem. Check it out
Yo D&D was the essence of hip hop. I worked in many studios that were plush and had all kinds of toys, but when you went to D&D you felt the essence as soon as you got off the elevator and walked into that dark reception area with the red light! lol I did a lot of sessions up there and met a lot of people there. To me D&D and Jazzy Jays studio were the best to work at. They are both gone now but check out this footage from D&D.
Some of you visit another site I am partnered with at HipHopGame.com called ASK DR NO. My partner on that site, gives recording and engineering advice and we also offer mixing and mastering services as well. We are going to be launching a new column very soon on http://pmpworldwide.com. This site is dedicated to producers and will allow us to get into more technical aspects of production. We will answer questions and will also feature video tutorials on various recording and production techniques. My partner Dr.No is a veteran engineer and recorded most of the early Wu projects. His resume is posted on my blog list sidebar..ASKDRNO. In the meantime check out the pmp site and get familiar. One of the partners in the site is Conrad Dimanche Sr. Director of A&R at Bad Boy, so you can be assured that this is a reputable site and a good platform for aspiring and even established producers. Check the site out and stay tuned for the launch of our column there. Thanks
This is bringing back memories man! Bobbito interviews Nas BEFORE Illmatic was released. A young Nas freestyling and having fun with it! CLASSIC. Also Big L (RIP) touches the mic. This was the best radio show ever! I miss Thursday nights.
Dope blend tape from the underrated Doggtime. I am going to try and get my hands on some of his other tapes this week. If you like the Ron G blends, you will like this.
