LOVEBUG STARSKI LIVE FROM WILLIES LOUNGE

If you never been to a Lovebug Starski party, this is the closest you will get. This is the orignal S&S.  This was recorded live at Willies Lounge Uptown NY early 90's. Quality is not the best as it  is from a cassette and there is  dead space at the start of the mix. This is part one. I will post part 2 soon.

Change Gonna Come

i hate to read which is why I think audio books rule. With the election 14 days away and Obama about to make history , I thought I would post this so you can get a better idea of who Obama is in his own words. Put this on your IPOD and take an hour a day to get familiar with our next President. BTW, the republicans have been taking excerpts from this book out of context and have been trying to paint a different picture of Obama. Just listen for yourself and VOTE!

MKAY 238ST LEGEND

Shout out to my man Mike aka MKAY. He and his brothers grew up in my building on 660 Nereid Ave in the Bronx. They wrote MKAY , CAVS & KEY. They got me into graf even though I sucked! lol If you remember the 70's and 80'S you remember how the trains used to be. That was HIP HOP along with breakdancing and rap music. The younger generation does not respect these 3 elements and its partially the older generations fault for nit keeping the values like we should have. I dedicate this post to the original b boy's who paved the way for the LIl Wayne's of today's world. Read the article on MK and check out a legendary writer from the Bronx...Cope 2. This is a classic video 2 parts

Sally

Another classic video! This one was shot down in Village on Great Jones St. It was raining like crazy that day. Diamond had an RV trailer that we were hanging out in during breaks in filming. Me , my man Sha who was a hype man and producer, his brother KX who was Diamonds DJ and Whiz who is featured on Stunts , Blunts and Hip Hop were in the trailer with Sadat X and Lord Jamar. This is around the time Diamond produced Punks Jump Up to Get Beat Down for the Nubians. We were all in the trailer smoking and listening to the Nubians album. This is the first time I heard Pass the Gat off that album and it really stood out and stuck in my head. That shit was hard! Fat Joe showed up and walked in the trailer. He pulled up in a 7 series BMW with this bad ass spanish chick. This will tell you Joe's mind state back in those days. He actually made the girl wait outside the RV next to a pay phone while he went inside the RV. Joe sat down and since he didn't smoke just nodded his head to the music. About 10 minutes later I start feeling that heat you feel on your face when someone is staring at you for a long time...lol. I look over and Joe is just ice grilling me like a motherfucker. Mind you dude was about to shoot my ass at the Fuck What ya Heard video shoot.LOL  I'm thinking ' Shit you got on the boat like you wanted, whats the problem!!?" 5 more minutes have passed and he still staring at me with his upper lip all to one side. I tap my man Sha and say ' I don't think this dude likes me too much man!' Sha tells me that Joe is diabetic and his lip does that unvoluntarily. In my head I;m thinking ' Yeah aiight! This dude aint feeling me!' LOL  Eventually he gets in a conversation with Diamond and like 30 minutes later we here a little knock on the door. The poor girl had been standing out in the pouring rain for like an hour and was knocking to see if he could pass her the keys to the car so she could wait in it. LMAO He barks on her for knocking and throws her an umbrella and says : Just wait there B!"

We leave to go back to filming in this downstairs club they rented for the shoot. Chris Lighty is there and I think Red Alert was there too. Fat Joe just got his deal with Relativity and Chris Lighty was managing him. I remember Joe telling Chris " Yo B! I'm ready to go platinum yo! I'm telling you Chris!' Chris told him that shit was not that easy and if he went gold he would be happy. Joe wasnt trying to hear that! Represent turned out to be a classic even though it did not go platinum. That same day Naughty by Nature was filming a scene for Hip Hop Hooray right around the corner. During a break we went over and checked it out. We got to get in a shot of the large crowd scene towards the end of the video. Man I miss the 90's man! Thank God for the memories Shout out to my man Sha Eaze and his brother DJ KX who you see riding in the old school red GTI in the video

F*uck What Ya heard!

This classic video was shot on the Hudson River on a boat called the Frying Pan. We had to take a little boat from the 79th street boat basin to the Frying Pan.  The boat only held 4 people and made one trip every 30 minutes. On the first trip it was the old man driving the boat, Fat Joe , me and my man Chris. Fat Joe was mad nervous to get on the boat and kept saying " I aint gonna drown B! I ain't drowning!" Fat Joe never drank, at least back then but he threw back a 40oz of Old English to calm his nerves. lol  We made it to the Frying Pan in one piece. The whole DITC was there along with Sadat X and Lord Jamar.  The boat had this old mini helicopter that didnt work but was used as a prop for the video. During a break in filming, we were all outside on the deck next too the helicopter. I remember Fat Joe fucking with cats from the crew like BuckWild and Big L (rip). Joe was like " Yo Buck, are you really BUCKWILD?? You live like that B?". Then he turned to Big L " Yo L, you really the devils son B?. Back then Joe was nothing like he is now. He was not to be fucked with and was straight off the block. L and Buck just laughed it off knowing how Joe was.  I remember Lord Finesse just laying in the cut reading the newspaper not even paying mind to what was going on. Joe was just being Joe.

Later on that day when I was about to leave, I went downstairs to say peace to everyone. Joe asked me " Yo the boats here?" I told him yeah but only 3 people could go on this trip and me, my man Chris and this chick from Def Jam were going to bounce.  Joe was like ' Yo B WE OUT SON!" Joe tapped his man Pete and was like " We getting on the boat!" We all walked to the plank and the driver said " only 3 people can go out" I told Joe we were waiting for like 30 minutes already and we had to go. Joe said " Yo we out! I gotta bounce" His man Pete pulls out an unloaded Glock with red tape on the handle that they were using for the video and said " Yo Joe pass me that clip man! ' Joe said " Chill Pete" with a sneaky smirk on his face while passing him the clip. lol Seeing where this was going and realizing it was not worth it I said " Yo its not that serious..We will wait on the next boat" Of course the chick from Def Jam started mouthing off like " Thats fucked up!! We was here waiting!!! While ya'll acting like that!!' My man Chris just tapped her and said " They got a gun in their hand. let them go!' The old white boat driver looked like he just shit in his pants! LOL  So Joe and his man Pete got on the boat and sailed away waving to us laughing.  At the time we were feeling like suckers or whatever but I think we played are cards right. Besides the old man came back like in 15 minutes and took us back! Crazy day but one I will never forget.
